Shannon has been in love with Photography ever since Santa delivered her first camera – taking her first photos of clouds and feet Shannon was then hooked. Studying Photography through high school then assisting some of Auckland’s top Wedding Photographers and finally starting her own Photography business in 2005. Shannon fine tuned her craft by completing a Certificate in Professional Photography from the New York Institute of Photography in 2005.
Shannon describes her style of photography as relaxed and natural with an artistic edge. Her philosophy being that those involved are enjoying themselves whilst capturing those special moments in crafted images for you to treasure.
Shannon is the mother of two beautiful children – Oliver (3) and Isobel(1). She has taken many photos of them and Oliver has learned how to strike a pose.
Shannon’s husband Matt is a High School Teacher of Computer Science as well as the IT and Internet whizz of Shannon Godfrey Photography. Matt and Shannon married each other in 2004 at St Matthew’s in the City.
