Celebration Sessions

Celebration sessions (getting to know each other)
I try to make my photography as fun and relaxed as possible because I feel this leads to the best photographs. Part of this is getting to know a bit about you before your wedding day. At our first meeting I will bring my camera along and while we talk about your day and requirements I will take a few pictures of you both. If you book me I will send a selection of the images taken at no additional cost. If you decide we aren’t a good fit and don’t book me (shock horror!) then you are welcome to purchase the photos at my standard rates.

I started the Celebration Sessions after reading a seminar from a renowned American Wedding Photographer who was looking to streamline her business but yet still maintain all the other facets she offered and she started offering a sitting similar to my celebration session to prospective wedding clients.

I was finding that people would come to me for our first meeting and ask me a list of questions that some wedding magazine or e-article had suggested they ask that may or may not have been of any importance to them and it was stiff and hard to get an idea of all our personalities, or alternatively would just book me on line and we wouldn’t even meet until the rehearsal. So I developed the Celebration Sessions a more condensed version of the traditional Engagement Sitting (without the sitting fees at an already expensive life venture). With the added benefit to me of standing out from a very crowded wedding market and giving me a chance to photograph you before your wedding day to see how you photograph and which poses and angles work best. It gives you a chance to see what it will be like to have me as your photographer, some photos which you can then use on your save the date cards, wedding websites, or even framed with a mat board for guests to sign on your wedding day, while still getting a chance to ask me all the questions you want. A much more productive use of all out time.

Allow around an hour for your Celebration session and I am more than happy to suggest locations or work in with your own personal location. The more personal you can make it the better and I am happy to incorporate props or pets if that helps make your session personal to you.

Here are some images from a recent Celebration Session I did.

Josina and Ash had a quick turn around from booking with me to having me photograph their wedding not long after their Celebration Session and you may have seen some of their wedding images on my facebook page.

Price, Collections and other such stuff

As I finish up the busy wedding season and sit down to look at my taxes, and other fun things, I have also reviewed my prices and collections and decided that it is necessary for me to have a price overview. My current prices and packages will be valid for any bookings made within the next 6 months. After that new bookings will be at the new pricing structure which I will release when I have updated my literature. Don’t worry it wont be a huge price increase but it has been many many years since I increased my prices and I was horrified when I worked out my hourly wage for the amount of time I spend processing photos. To clarify if you book within the next 6 months for a 2016 or 2017 wedding my current prices apply. please email me at smgodfrey@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to make a booking.

A day late but we got there in the end. Looking forward to the weekends exhibition but still have no idea how I will exhibit my photographs. Feeling a little sad it’s over and looking forward to 100 Days Project 2015! I had to finish with these crazies.

I seem to have a bit of an obsession about photographing trees. Maybe next year that might be my theme.
